We can start in April with the first live CHFA Tradeshow since fall 2019 and it was truly wonderful to get together with everyone again and get caught up. An added bonus for me was having Raoul and Katharine here in Canada from Herb UK to represent Tints of Nature in the Purity Life row at CHFA NOW Vancouver.
The show was a buzz with new and old friends, new and exciting innovation around every corner and sales, sales, sales! I was pumped for this show and it delivered in many ways. We gave all the retailers a sneak peek into what’s new from Herb UK for 2022. Look out world because we are about to disrupt the colour category in a BIG way this fall.
What happened next you ask? I signed 2 new brands to launch at Purity Life Health Products.
Foamie – Live Life Plastic Free!
After seeing that today’s consumers were no longer excited by the humble bar of soap, a team of beauty enthusiasts came together at FOAMIE to re-invent the once-loved family favourite. By removing the ‘soap’ and creating a solid cleansing bar – a ‘syndet’ – the team were able to create a base for all of our products that was perfectly pH-Balanced for your skin and hair. FOAMIE launched in Germany in 2018, and quickly found love from our customers thanks to our striking designs, tongue-in-cheek communication and innovative product design.
We are now on a mission to “Think Outside the Bottle” and re-invent the way you think about your bathroom routine, with planet-friendly solutions that function as you would expect, smell incredible, and leave a lasting effect on your skin and hair.

I am also very excited to share that Naturally Perfect Consulting now represents Suncoat Products, a Canadian brand made right here in Guelph, Ontario where I’m based. Suncoat Products are distributed via Purity Life Health Products.
Suncoat first entered the beauty market in 2002 when their founder and chemist Yingchun Liu, Ying for short, whose background includes both polymer chemistry and organic chemistry, found herself in a predicament: her seven year-old daughter wanted to experiment with nail polish. Yet Ying felt the bevy of hazardous chemicals in nail polish, which includes formaldehyde, toluene and acetates, posed too great a risk to her health. So taking to task her expertise in chemistry as well as her artistic eye for creativity, Ying created a revolutionary new formula of water-based, non-toxic nail polish, designed to provide the same quality and finish as the conventional stuff, but without any unsafe chemicals.
On a roll, Ying certainly didn’t stop with nail polishes, expanding Suncoat to include a collection of award-winning formulations for face, eye, lips and even hair, all born from the ideal combination of technology and efficacious natural ingredients. The model forms the heart of the Suncoat brand, to operate with a firm commitment to producing innovative, high-quality products from the best ingredients nature has to offer while maintaining the highest environmental integrity.
Ying holds a BSc degree in polymer chemistry from Nanjing University, Nanjing, China, and MSc degree in organic chemistry from The University of Calgary, Calgary, Canada. Ying was also a Ph.D candidate at University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada, in organic/biopolymer chemistry during 1993-1995. Before starting Suncoat in 2002, Ying worked in Canada for many years as a Formulation Chemist, Senior Coatings Chemist and Technical Director for industrial coatings and polymer resins manufacturers.
